LACORO 2025 will take place at the Universidad de O'Higgins in Rancagua, Chile, located about 1 hour south of the capital and the main international Airport. The Universidad de O'Higgins (https://www.uoh.cl/) is a new national university created in 2017 with a strong focus on research. The Institute of Engineering Sciences of the university will host the event through its Robotics and Intelligent Systems Laboratory.

Traveling:

There are three options to travel from the Airport to Rancagua and the Universidad de O'Higgins/your hotel:

Recommended:

Book a transfer that will pick you up directly at the Airport and bring you to UOH or your hotel in Rancagua, e.g.:

Alternative by Bus:

If you choose the alternative of transportation by bus, it has a departure frequency every 30 minutes / 60 minutes (depending on the time of day). Each ticket costs approximately 3-3.5 USD.

If you will be traveling from Santiago to Rancagua, the following is strongly recommended:

  1. Only purchase your bus ticket through TurBus (and not through other available lines).
  2. You can buy your electronic ticket through the website: https://turbus.cl/
  3. You can buy your physical ticket at Terminal Alameda TurBus.
  4. When purchasing your physical or electronic ticket, you must make sure that:
    1. The origin is Santiago - Terminal Alameda TurBus, located at the exit of Metro Universidad de Santiago (Metro Line 1 "Red").
    2. The destination is Rancagua - Terminal O'Carroll (be sure to mark Terminal O'Carol, not Terminal O'Higgins).
  5. On this route, the travel time is approximately 70 minutes.
  6. On this route, the bus stops one block from the university. For this, when you get on the bus at Terminal Alameda (Platform 12), tell the driver that you will get off at "Alameda" (the bus will stop there a few minutes so that you can get off and go to the University).
If you will be traveling back from Rancagua to Santiago, the following is strongly recommended:
  1. Only purchase your bus ticket through TurBus or Condor (and not through other available lines).
  2. You can buy your electronic ticket through the website: https://turbus.cl/
  3. You can purchase your physical ticket at either of the two terminals in Rancagua.
  4. When purchasing your physical or electronic ticket, you must make sure that:
    1. The origin is Rancagua (you can choose Terminal O'Carrol or Terminal O'Higgins, it is recommended that you take an Uber to this terminal).
    2. The destination is Santiago - Terminal Alameda TurBus
  5. On this route, the travel time is approximately 70-90 minutes.
  6. On this route, the bus will drop you off at the Santiago - Terminal Alameda TurBus, located at the exit of the Metro Universidad de Santiago (Metro Line 1 "Red").

Do not risk your safety. Always keep your belongings with you (do not leave them in the overhead compartments).
Alternative by train:

If you choose the alternative of transportation by train, it has a departure frequency every 30 minutes / 60 minutes (depending on the time of day). Each trip costs approximately USD 3-3.5. The itinerary of departure times is updated month by month in the Official X profile of Metro Tren Efe Estación Central-Rancagua. Here is a link updated to date: monthly schedule.

If you will be traveling from Santiago to Rancagua or vice versa, the following is strongly recommended:

  1. If it is your first time traveling by train in Chile, you must purchase a one-time standard card at the points located at the entrance of the train station (the purchase value of the card is between USD 1-2).
  2. Each trip Santiago/Rancagua or vice versa costs approximately USD 3-3.5. You must charge money to your rail card at the station (online recharging is not available).
  3. To travel from Santiago to Rancagua:
    1. The train departs from "Estación Central", located just outside the metro station of the same name (Estación Central - Line 1 "Red"). It is strongly recommended that you only travel by subway train to the station and not by bus.
    2. Once past the turnstile, you must walk to the platform that will take you to Rancagua. If you have any doubts, ask the people in MetroTren Efe uniform.
    3. Once in "Estación Metro Tren Rancagua" and leaving the station, it is strongly recommended that you only move to the University via the Uber app (and no other transportation).
  4. To move from Rancagua to Santiago:
    1. It is strongly recommended to move by Uber from the university to "Estación Metro Tren Rancagua".
    2. The train departs from "Estación Metro Tren Rancagua" with destination "Santiago" (last station, everyone gets off).
    3. Once in Santiago, go to the Metro Station Line 1 to move.
  5. On both routes, the travel time is approximately 90 minutes.

Attention: Estación Central is very busy, and you must be mindful about your belongings, etc.
